Excellence in Performance, Innovation and Citizenship (EPIC) Program
Penn State Schuylkill's EPIC program is designed to help first-year students successfully transition to the college experience. EPIC offers comprehensive support through faculty, staff, and peer mentorship, specialized academic workshops, cohort-scheduled courses, and curated activities.
In this 3-semester program, students will become part of a cohort and will engage in the development of an active learning community; contributing to a well-rounded collegiate experience. As part of the cohort, students will take the First-Year Seminar (PSU 8), Speech (CAS 100A) and Foundations of Civic and Community Engagement (CivCom 211N) together.
Students who participate in this program will be offered a 1-year scholarship of $1,000 total, $500 for the 1st Fall semester and $500 for the Spring semester.
In this active learning community, our 2023-24 EPIC cohort has participated in experiential activities off-campus including:
- An escape room experience;
- The Works gaming experience;
